SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER, Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research, to oversee and where necessary redesign of the Payload Operations Center (POC) and Payload Data Operations (PDO) custom and vendor-supplied software suites. Will ensure long-term stability and utility of both the operations pipeline and science data processing pipeline. Nature of work: This is an entry level position. Transportation Engineer I (Hydraulics/Water Resources Track)

Location: Baltimore City

This is an entry level engineering position in which the incumbent will be closely supervised in the review and investigation of drainage problems affecting state highways and the hydraulic design of structures carrying waterways. This position may provide design responsibilities for storm drains, storm-water management facilities, and erosion and sediment control plans on state projects. This position may also perform hydrologic and hydraulic studies of structures over streams and rivers, including hydraulic design of bridges and culverts, scour safety determinations, and flooding evaluations. This is a training level position, functioning in a design and support role on a hydraulic team.

Transportation Engineer I (Materials Track)

Location: Hanover

Transportation Engineer I’s in this track will be performing engineering duties in support of project development, highway infrastructure, asset management, construction projects and condition assessments. In a learning capacity, the position may conduct certification reviews for various materials, test/evaluate QA/QC materials in the laboratory as well as in the field, use materials test results in pavement/geotechnical design, perform hands-on forensic evaluations of structures, prepare inspection reports and make repair recommendations under the direction of an experienced engineer, depending on which division they join. The Transportation Engineer I should be able to communicate with contractors, engineers, and OMT personnel as needed to complete work in a clear and efficient manner. This position should be able to review, understand and explain the project documents, specifications, and drawings to the contractors in an effective manner. The Transportation Engineer I should be able to attend the pre-construction and progressive meetings, and act as a liaison between the District, OMT, and contractors.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education for Construction Track: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in any of the following: Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering.

Electrical Engineer Intern assists in the design of control systems for agricultural equipment.   • Understanding of electronic design principles including circuit analysis and design, layout/design of schematics and printed circuit boards, and user interfaces for machine control and setup/configuration;
  • Working knowledge of system level design and assembly including sensors/actuators, wiring harnesses, enclosures, user interfaces, and power supplies;
  • Ability to read and interpret instructional drawings and schematics;
  • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, critical thinking, and analytical skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to effectively work with CAD systems, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and software.
