This electrical solar design engineer will prepare and provide accurate electrical designs and construction drawings for our project managers and installation teams.
Interface with PMs, 3rd party engineering firms, electricians, field labor, and crews for MN and Iowa solar projects – ground mounts & rooftop mounts for commercial and agricultural farms.
Day-to-day activities of this role may include, but are not limited to:
Conduct site feasibility studies and assist with site surveying for layouts, building measurements, solar trajectory, and power output calculations
Attend client/pre-construction meetings
Create a full set of drawings for agricultural and commercial-scale solar projects, including roof and ground mounts
Draft electrical one-line diagrams and panel system designs
Create equipment detail sheets
Manage engineering subcontractors on larger-scale projects, or as needed
Travel to project sites, usually during business hours.
utilize AutoCAD and PV Sketchup
Interface with the customer/clients onsite.
Perform qualify QA/QC on PV sites.
70% design and 30% site visits and technical documentation for projects.
