POSITION: Software Engineer
LOCATION: Blackfoot, Idaho
JOB SUMMARY:
The Software Engineer is responsible the design of electronic control systems for agricultural equipment. The Engineer is responsible for the analysis, scheduling, task development, and completion of assigned projects. The Engineer will record and track project schedule, task status, and changes in project management software in an accurate and timely manner. Tasks will include research, component selection, design, programming, documentation, testing and production support. Additionally, the Engineer will be responsible for accurate and detailed preparation of bill of materials, schematics, and instructions necessary to facilitate the production of designed materials. Teamwork and customer service skills are critical as the Engineer will work with customers, vendors, employees, supervisors and managers. The Engineer will demonstrate high levels of responsibility and accountability; working effectively and efficiently at all times. The Engineer must be able to work with his/her hands outdoors as well as capable of designing in an office environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform various coding and programming tasks, such as design or development for electronic control systems including embedded systems programming in C;
- Develop specifications, selection, and quotation components for electrical and electronic assemblies for successful equipment production;
- Design electrical and electronic systems including circuits, printed circuit boards, sensors, actuators, wiring harnesses, enclosures, user interfaces, and power supplies using requirements provided by sales staff, customers, service technicians, and management;
- Learn quality standards and know the quality measurements for electric component assembly;
- Test and troubleshoot electrical systems, components, and assemblies, and develop proposals on corrective action using feedback provided by sales staff, customers, service technicians, production personal, and management;
- Present design options to the project team and/or upper management and find the best solution for Spudnik;
- Create, maintain, and provide complete and accurate documentation of designs including schematics, prints, diagrams, quality check sheets, and bills of material;
- Communicate with internal and external customers effectively and professionally;
- Work closely with management members to keep a clear focus on company goals and objectives in order to redirect efforts in projects or project focus due to customer or production needs;
- Perform audits on jobs and projects for completeness and accuracy;
- Be a top performer in workmanship, safety, and work ethics.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, or a degree in a related field;
- Working knowledge and/or experience programming in ‘C’ for embedded processors including file systems, task scheduling, user interfacing, and I/O control;
- Ability to read and interpret instructional drawings and schematics, troubleshooting, diagnostic, critical thinking, and analytical skills;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Ability to effectively work with CAD systems, schematic capture systems, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and software;
- Agriculture experience preferred.

Typical Environmental Conditions
Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May have temperature changes due to working inside a shop or outdoor environment. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: Fumes, odors, dust mists, gases or poor ventilation. There is air and or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
