Job Description

As an Industrial Pipe Stress Engineer at Olsson, you will provide mechanical equipment and process piping design for agricultural and industrial projects as well as preparing design documents, specifications, and design calculations. You will have opportunities to have field experience and to build client relationships. Travel may be required for site visits.

We have two current openings and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Lincoln, NE, Omaha, NE, North Kansas City, MO, Oklahoma City, OK, Fort Worth, TX, Des Moines, IA, and Denver, CO offices.

You bring to the team:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering specific to chemical, industrial, structural, mechanical, or a related area is required.
  • Must be a registered professional engineer.
  • 3-15 years of related experience.
  • Experience with equipment layout, piping design, piping specifications, piping stress analysis, piping isometrics, pressure relief valve analysis, process flow diagram and P&ID’s.
  • Familiarity with Industrial Codes such as B31.1, B31.3, NFPA, IBC and ASME, Experience in the oil & gas industry is helpful.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoPLANT, Caesar, or SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of FEA modeling software and AutoPIPE is helpful but not required.

Typical salary range for this position is $65,000 to $149,000 +, and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
