This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Responsibilities

As the Lead Embedded Software Engineer on our Embedded Operating Systems team based in Urbandale, IA, you will be accountable for supervising the development and testing of high-quality software features for our vehicle displays using agile processes.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise working with Embedded Linux and will partner often with system engineers to define feature requirements and system design to deliver customer-centric software and system solutions. Furthermore, the work you accomplish as Software Delivery Supervisor will be critical for driving breakthrough developments in the product areas of displays, controls, sensors, components, and power electronics.

You will also be involved with:

  • Developing feature requirements and system designs in collaboration with system engineers and software architects
  • Coaching your team and collaborating with internal stakeholders
  • Overseeing the development and testing of high-quality software features within the embedded operating systems group
  • Driving your team’s collaboration with their internal stakeholders and user support management
  • Upskilling your team as their technical and non-technical skills coach

  • Embedded Linux and real-time operating systems expertise
  • Leadership experience in software product delivery using agile processes
  • Systems engineering expertise
  • An in-depth understanding of embedded software development
  • Experience as a Product Owner

Education

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent embedded software and systems development experience
