Job Description Summary
Are you an engineer that enjoys using computers to drive efficiency? Do you like learning new software systems that drive automation?
The Syncade MES (Manufacturing Execution System) at the Portsmouth site drives automation of equipment to produce pharmaceutical drug products. This internship is focused on the configuration of automation systems to meet the business need.
If you enjoy doing important work as a key contributor to producing drug products, and using systems to drive efficiency, then this role may be a good fit for you!
We are actively recruiting candidates to participate in our 2023 On-site Summer Internship program. This program is roughly 12 weeks in length and will immerse you into the culture and operations of Lonza Portsmouth. This internship will be focused on configuration of the Syncade MES (Manufacturing Execution System) at the Portsmouth site.
The internship program begins Tuesday, May 30, 2023 and ends on Friday, August 18, 2023. Potential interns must be able to commit to at least 40 hours per week throughout the duration of the summer internship.
Required Education
- Completion of junior year (typically 90 credits) towards a B.S. degree in a related field
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4) required
- Must currently be enrolled in BS or MS Academic Program
- Must be available to begin the Internship on Tuesday, May 30, 2023

About Portsmouth
Our Lonza Portsmouth site is a clinical-to-commercial, multi-product manufacturing facility located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, only 56 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. The site, which employs over 1,400 employees, is a custom manufacturer of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins using mammalian cell culture.
