The Premium Services Engineer is responsible for performing on-site surveys and product inventories for Regal Rexnord end users. They will travel to various beverage processing sites within the United States to identify our products and catalog them into a database for customer reference. They will also create customer presentations to summarize their findings and encourage MRO business for worn product. Excellent written and verbal skills are required to produce detailed reports in a timely manner. This is an entry-level position which is intended to transition into our engineering department after 2-3 years of field work. A qualified candidate will be able to self-manage their time, arrange and book their own travel, and comfortably flex to adapt based on customer demands and availability. They will also be comfortable interfacing with our customers and sales teams directly, being the face of Regal Rexnord as they collect detailed data. Time between surveys will be utilized to improve survey efficiency, develop tools to effectively close opportunities generated by surveys, and support the application engineering team as needed.
Performing inventories of Regal Rexnord Products at customer locations
Gather and document information in the field with attention to detail
Maintain a safe working environment
Interpret site maps, plant layouts, blueprints and specifications
Read and measure conveyor distances and chain wear using survey equipment
Perform various survey calculations
Develop and maintain sales promotion documentation
Maintain the Premium Service database
Documentation and standardization of work
Maintain a continuous improvement environment to improve survey speed and efficiency
Maintain excellent client relations
Learn Regal Rexnord Food & Beverage conveyor product lines and be able to positively identify product in the field
Provide customer with assistance for product identification and selection on a variety of conveying systems and industries
Interface with Sales and Engineering teams as well as customers and distribution partners
Able to book travel arrangements (flight, hotel, car) and responsibly use a company credit card for meals and work-related expenses
Prepare well-organized documents and reports that clearly and accurately convey the appropriate business information
Work to a defined process laid out by a standard operating procedure (SOP)
Desired Education / Experience / Skills:
Self-starter with a sense of urgency, minimal supervision required
Associates Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field
Solid mechanical aptitude
Comfortable with problem solving basic mechanical issues on the fly
Efficient with Microsoft Business Software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to customers at all levels within the organization
Commercial affinity and interest
Minimum of 1 year of comparable experience, including co-op assignments
Quality-minded, flexible and practical approach to situations
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Has the ability to identify the relationships of component activities, events, patterns or processes within a system
Travel up to 75% of the time (typically ~ 50%) in the contiguous United States. May branch out do surveys to Mexico and Canada.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not mandatory
