Regal is looking for an Engineering Level III, with strengths in Electronics & Reliability to work closely with our New Product Development and Sustainability Engineering teams. This candidate will have extensive experience with electric motors and capable of developing & executing test plans for global products. This position will help identify reliability requirements for induction and electrically controlled variable speed motors. This role will include collaboration with cross-functional global teams, providing reliability engineering guidance to development teams and senior leadership.

Job Responsibilities: Reliability Engineer III

  • Analyze data from warranties and various tests, work with NPD leaders to; outline reliability and qualification test requirements, define long term life test requirements, assist with FMEA’s, CTQ’s, MSA studies, and other design activities, manage returns programs, help with root cause analysis of returns, and drive corrective actions on reliability issues.
  • Meet with customers over reliability issues, testing, and corrective actions.
  • Work with manufacturing to drive corrective actions, define testing, disposition suspect material, define qualification efforts, and help qualify new production lines and transfers of work.
  • Work with suppliers over the quality and reliability of products supplied to RRX and define component level testing.
  • Coordinates technical support on issues involving field failures, potential recall, and other warranty issues typically involving large financial impact to the company.
  • Administers reliability testing policies across multiple brands and products and directs appropriate actions as determined by the testing results.
  • Determines qualification requirements for corrective actions needed on larger more complex issues
  • Determines qualification of new vendor components upon request from Sourcing or Technology.
  • Reviews all vendor reliability tests to determine thoroughness.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience in Engineering or Mathematics.
  • 10+ years’ experience in product development and reliability.
  • Basic understanding of reliability metrics, goals, methods, and techniques. Understanding of Weibull analysis.
  • Familiarity with statistics.
  • Familiarity with high volume manufacturing.
  • Must be well organized, energetic, self-motivated and possess good communications and computer skills.
  • Green belt in Lean Six Sigma or Blackbelt in six sigma (preferred)
