Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Software Developer 4 opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

Work Location: 100% remote.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (5-8s) or 9/80s

Summary:

Supports software applications and systems by investigating, designing, documenting and implementing new hardware and software. The Software and Applications Engineering (SAE) Division supports Los Alamos National Laboratory’s (LANL) enterprise applications and performs software application development support, database development and administration, software quality management, and enterprise application consulting. The Enterprise Business Software Group (SAE-2) provides custom application development, commercial off-the-shelf application implementation, database administration, and adoption/integration with Software as a Service solution. SAE-2 supports business processes for financial, personnel, procurement, and human resources IT systems.

Software Developer 4

Working alongside some of the brightest minds, you will work with a team using agile development methodologies that support existing custom and COST applications. The selected candidates will work as a Senior Denodo Platform Developer on EDS(Enterprise Data Service) team in the Enterprise Business Software group (SAE-2) supporting the development and maintenance of the Denodo Platform.

A selected candidate will be responsible to:

  • Develop and maintain Enterprise Data Models for Enterprise Class Data Initiatives
  • Improve efficiency and performance tuning of existing and new views in the Denodo Platform.
  • Create new and modify existing SQL reports utilizing the Denodo Platform per customer specifications.
  • Develop conceptual and logical information data models within the context of the Denodo and MicroStrategy Platforms
  • Develop efficient mapping of data sources, data movements, and analytics ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Develop and enforce data modeling standards and best practices.
  • Deliver progress reports to project leaders, sponsors, and help define project plans and milestones.
  • Contribute to the designing, developing, modifying, testing, and debugging of various reports within Denodo or MicroStrategy Platforms to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with customers and colleagues.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to technical staff.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in reading and writing complex SQL queries.
  • Extensive understanding and experience with performance tuning of complex SQL queries.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in creating complex customer queries utilizing Denodo Platform 8.x and/or MicroStrategy 2021u4 or newer.
  • Experience with performance tuning of existing queries utilizing Denodo Platform 8.x and/or MicroStrategy 2021u4 or newer.
  • Knowledge and understanding of row/column level security in Denodo Platform 8.x and/or MicroStrategy 2021u4 or newer.
  • Ability to read, understand and map EBS SQL queries.
  • Knowledge and experience with mapping of SQL queries in Oracle EBS into Denodo Platform 8.x and/or MicroStrategy 2021u4 or newer.
  • Experience and extensive knowledge of data architecture, data mapping and integration between systems and various data sources.
  • Experience with designing and implementing complex data architectures.
  • Experience with mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics, with the goal of ensuring data quality and efficiency of reports
  • Should have good communication skills to interact with business users and work on enhancement requests

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge of MicroStrategy Platform 2021u4 or newer, specifically with schematic model, data model, and report development.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies including Agile, Kanban, and Scrum.
