Job Description

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. seeks a Software Developer Principal in Strongsville, OH to participate in all aspects of PNC’s Information Technology activities. Position allows for the ability to work from home with appropriate telecommuting systems for up to three days per week, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. Specific duties include: (i) align business strategy with software solutions; (ii) propose, design and code software solutions to address complex business needs; oversee technical and procedural documentation required; (iii) lead complex problem solving; (iv) provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and solution development; and (v) display an innovative approach to apply modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities; develop and lead PNC IT applications.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science plus 5 years of experience in software development for the financial services industry in position(s) identifying user requirements and performing research and analysis to determine conceptual design for solving business problems is required. Must have experience with: (i) multiple databases (Oracle or SQL Server or DB2 or Teradata or Hadoop); (ii) data modeling; (iii) writing and debugging SQL and PL/SQL code; (iv) ETL tool (PowerCenter Informatica); (v) Shell scripting; (vi) business intelligence tools (OBIEE, BI Publisher, and Tableau); (vii) object-oriented programming language for data processing; (viii) Java; (ix) IBM ODM; (x) API development on APIGEE; (xi) data replication techniques; (xii) DevOps CI/CD tool and Jenkins and GIT and Udeploy and JIRA; (xiii) working closely with product owner(s) to recommend and implement process improvements; and (xiv) interacting with Enterprise Architecture and technology vendors and influencing solution design adhering to industry standard.
