This position will report into the Head of Engineering and will be instrumental in leading the software development effort for the Caden platform. The Software Development Lead will be working with the technical leaders to design the software architecture and solutions for Caden and will be responsible to bring it to life with an agile software development team.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for the technical integrity of our team’s delivery of scalable software components across our mobile, application and data platforms
  • Provide analysis and estimation of future work impacting our team
  • Partner with technical leadership to design, develop and maintain solutions to support key business requirements
  • Be an active developer and contributor to the team’s delivery by leading through difficult technology challenges and drive our team to successful delivery
  • Document designs and solutions – System Design and Architecture, Use Cases, Deployment diagrams, Best Practices and Support docs, etc.
  • Foster Agile engineering practices including: Pair Programming, Continuous Integration and Test Driven Development
  • Work closely with BA/QA team members to create test plans and ensure that issues are properly identified, fixed, and tested
  • Review pull requests, debug and document existing systems through code analysis to ensure development quality is being tracked and improved
  • Lead, mentor and provide technical leadership to teammates to progress their technical and professional skills
  • Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Triage technical issues and lead teams toward solving problems

What You Bring

Required:

  • Ability to have ownership and help guide technical direction of our product
  • 5+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience with development and design experience with CI / CD pipelines
  • Experience with Cloud services (AWS preferred)
  • 2+ years experience in leading and mentoring successful development teams
  • 4+ years of Java experience, including JavaScript Frameworks experience (jQuery, Ext JS, Angular JS). API programming experience with Perl, XML, REST or JSON
  • 3+ years of development experience with microservices based on event driven architecture and domain driven design
  • 4+ years of experience in any database – SQL, graph DBs, noSQL, etc.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Experience with major database engines including Oracle, SQL Server and DB2

Preferred:

  • Industry-standard technology certifications
  • Experience with graph technologies, especially ontology / semantic databases
  • UI (User Interface) experience including Mobile, Web Services
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with Spring framework
  • Prior track record of successfully building products from scratch
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Experience working in an Agile and/or Startup environment

This role will work (hybrid) out of our downtown Manhattan office.

The salary range for this position is $180,000 – $220,000 per year based on candidate qualifications.
