- Test Engineer II $82,000-$84,000k DOE
- Test Engineer III $93,000-$95,000k DOE
Primary Function:
Our client is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the Engineering Operations Group and the organization as a whole. This role plays an important role in validating designs to address customer needs, and in providing solutions to technical problems. This individual interacts with all aspects of the organization, including marketing, manufacturing, procurement, and design, to ensure that they deliver quality forklift trucks that meet customer requirements and acceptance.
Essential Job Functions – Responsibilities:
- Conduct noise and vibration testing. Analyze test data to assess and rank the significance of various types of noise and vibration sources.
- Effectively communicate test results and conclusions to engineering teams.
- Develop, test, and validate effective noise and vibration countermeasures or design changes.
- Travel to manufacturing plants to monitor and track noise and vibration characteristics of production lift trucks.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
- B.S. in Engineering with 3 to 5 years’ experience
- Capability of performing standard noise and vibration measurements and analyses:
- General vibration measurements
- Experimental modal testing
- Overall sound pressure and power level measurements
- Frequency and order spectral analysis
- Sound intensity measurements
- Sound quality assessments
- Basic knowledge/skill in vehicle/automotive technology
- Basic level of hands-on mechanical aptitude required to conduct noise and vibration testing unassisted and working knowledge of acoustics, vibration, and digital signal processing (DSP)
- Specific knowledge of Bruel & Kjaer LabShop and Connect systems, and Labview desirable
- Basic knowledge of shaker testing methods desirable
- Basic knowledge/skill in 3D solid modeling desirable (NX or equivalent)
- Exposure to and interest in, industrial equipment (materials handling, automotive, agricultural or similar) highly desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capability of effectively documenting and presenting noise and vibration test results to non-specialists
- Strong mechanical background required (Proper usage of power, pneumatic, and hand tools. Ability to lift 50 lbs.).
Work Environment
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Often required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers.
