Web Content Coordinator

The Web Content Coordinator is a technical leader with experience in web technologies and web design who will oversee creation of content for university website pages and technical applications. Inherent in this position is the ability to enhance new and existing web pages and technical applications, as well as internal web projects. This position works with various partners to collaboratively design pages that apply the latest technologies to engage target audiences. Reporting to the communications content manager, this position will proactively pursue content that elevates the university’s brand messaging and storytelling via the website.

  • Design and develop content for web pages on the university’s website while ensuring their usability and accuracy. Enhance new and existing web pages and technical applications, as well as internal web projects. Work closely with Content Manager and Web Developer to develop a web content and user experience strategy to guide design, content development, organization, and ongoing maintenance and governance.
  • Proactively pursue content that elevates the university’s brand message and storytelling on our new CMS and redesigned website, ensuring all pages have a similar look and feel. Apply the latest technologies to engage target audiences.
  • Assist in creating content for newsletters, social media campaigns, online publications, and other applications. Explore options and make recommendations for ways to leverage new technologies and mobile-first design.
  • Ensure web design accessibility meets compliance standards.
  • Track and report on metrics measuring the impact and effectiveness of content-driven website analytics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience in communications and web content creation. Successful background check required. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent communication skills, a strategic vision, strong problem-solving abilities, and direct experience managing websites. Experience with IIS, Apache, PHP, WordPress, and CMS.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and a thorough understanding of content management systems. Knowledge of Web technologies. Comfortable with concepts of search engine optimization, interpreting web trends from analytics, and multimedia applications. Ability to work in a team and independently. Excellent interpersonal skills.
