The Web Designer/Developer is a member of the Finance and Operations (F&O) IT website and applications team, which supports both F&O and the Division of Institutional Integrity and Risk Management (IIRM). This position’s ongoing job responsibilities involve website development, support, and analysis for more than two dozen public websites for both F&O and IIRM.
The primary function of this position is to provide advanced WordPress development and support for F&O website customers. The person in this position must be able to successfully analyze website requests and produce results that successfully convey the requested message in a way that meshes with previously developed solutions. The position reports to the Digital Solutions Manager and works with that position to ensure that all customers and stakeholders of these websites are successfully able to communicate news, events, and other information in a timely manner to their respective audiences. Additionally, the person in this position serves as the primary point of contact for customer requests and serves as the backup to the Digital Solutions Manager.
A primary role of this position is to develop and provide comprehensive trend reporting as well as quantitative and qualitative analytics for F&O and IIRM websites by conducting research to examine and evaluate current website trends and by utilizing analytical tools to create and measure website campaign goals over appropriate periods of time. The result of this reporting and analysis will allow the Service Center of Excellence (SCE) IT and the F&O Marketing and Communications team, as well as website content owners, to make informed decisions for developing and promoting future events and campaigns.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master’s or Bachelor’s and 0-2 years’ experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong working knowledge of WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Ability to interpret and disseminate customer website requests. Knowledge of current web design techniques and standards. Experience with general information organization principles as they relate to presentation of information on a website.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Basic knowledge of digital accessibility and how to incorporate accessibility requirements into the process for addressing a customer’s website request.
